Move Out Instructions for Hendricks Property Management

YOU MUST PROVIDE YOUR FORWARDING ADDRESS TO YOUR PROPERTY MANAGER.
PLEASE CONTACT THEM WITH THIS INFORMATION.

General:

  • Remove all personal belongings from the home.

  • Air conditioning filter must be clean.

  • All light bulbs must be in working condition.

  • Repair any minor damage you caused. If there is substantial damage, hire a professional to make the necessary repairs.

  • Remove all garbage from home and trash receptacles.

  • Smoke alarms must be operational. Replace batteries as necessary.

  • All plumbing must be free of any blockages.

  • If you have a pet, a flea treatment must be performed, per your lease, to eradicate all fleas that are present.

  • Carpet cleaning is required by a professional company and a receipt must be provided.

  • If you have a fireplace, clean ashes out and ensure entire fireplace is free of dust/ashes.

Kitchen:

Stove/Oven:

  • Entire surface area must be cleaned.

  • The vent hood, the oven (inside and outside), stove top/cook top must be clean and free of grease.

  • The drip pans should be clean or replaced.

  • The filter for the vent hood should be washed, dried, and put back in place (putting the vent hood filter in the dishwasher will clean it very well).

  • The lower drawer should be clean.  

  • If your oven is a self-cleaning oven, do not use an oven cleaner. Put the oven in the self-cleaning cycle to clean and wipe out debris.

Refrigerator:

  • All food items must be removed from both fridge and freezer.

  • All shelves and compartments must be cleaned and free of food and/or debris.

  • Clean both the inside and outside of the refrigerator. The entire refrigerator must be clean and free of debris.

Cabinets/Shelves/Countertops:

  • All cabinets/shelves must be cleaned out of personal items and must be free of dirt, grease, dust, etc. Wipe out cabinets with a damp cloth to ensure they are clean.

  • Clean and disinfect all countertops. They must be free of food particles, grease, dust, etc.

Dishwasher/microwave:

  • Microwave must be cleaned inside and out. It needs to be free of all food particles, grease, fingerprints, etc.

  • Dishwasher needs to be clean and free of any personal items. Wipe the outside of the dishwasher and ensure it is free of food particles, dust, fingerprints, etc.

  • Clean any other appliances.

Sink and surrounding areas:

  • Garbage disposal must be in working condition.

  • Clean sink, faucet, handles to ensure they are free of any food particles, dust, etc.

  • Wipe backsplash (if applicable) to ensure it is free of any grease, food particles, etc.

Laundry Area:

  • Flooring, shelves, and walls must be clean and free of dust, dirt, debris.

  • If there is a washer/dryer at your home, wipe down the outside units. They must be in working condition.

Living Room and Dining Room:

  • Carpets must be vacuumed clean. Carpets must be professionally shampooed and a receipt provided when surrendering keys. If you have tile/hardwood, the floors must be swept and mopped to ensure they are free of dust and debris

  • Baseboards need to be dusted.

  • Ceiling fan(s) should be cleaned and free of dust.

  • Light fixtures should be cleaned and light bulbs should be working.

  • Windows and blinds should be wiped clean to ensure they are free of dust.

Bedrooms:

  • Carpets must be vacuumed clean. Carpets must be professionally shampooed and a receipt provided when surrendering keys. If you have tile/hardwood, the floors must be swept and mopped to ensure they are free of dust and debris

  • Closets vacuumed/cleaned.

Walls:

  • All walls throughout the home should be free of dirt, fingerprint marks, food spillage, and grime. A magic eraser is perfect for this.

  • Remove all nails, screws, etc. If you do paint touch up, ensure the paint does match.

  • Baseboards should be dusted and clean.

  • Patch and large holes made from TV mounts or art.

  • All switch/outlet covers should be clean and free of dirt. If they are broken, they must be replaced.

Bathrooms:

  • Toilets must be scrubbed with disinfectant cleaner. Toilet lid, seat, bowl, and base should be clean and no dirt, dust, or staining should be present.

  • Sinks, including fixtures, should be clean and free of dust, hair, debris, etc.

  • Mirrors and shower glass should all be cleaned and streak free.

  • Showers/tubs should be completely clean, including faucets, tile, tub basin, shower tile, shower glass and frame. There should be no mildew, hair, or soap scum build up.

  • All cabinets and drawers should be wiped out and free of hair, dust, debris, etc.

  • All light bulbs and vent fans must be in working condition.

Garage/Patios/Exterior:

  • Patios swept and free of any dirt/debris. All personal items must be removed.

  • Garage floor swept. All trash carried away and storage compartments emptied and cleaned.

  • Lawn needs to be mowed, edged, and cleaned of debris.

  • Any animal droppings need to be picked up and disposed of.
